Corrective Exercises

Active stretching and strengthening exercises are incorporated with each patient to assist in the healing time and reducing risk of exacerbation of symptoms. These exercises are designed to be performed in the comfort of your own home. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Yes, children can benefit from chiropractic care. Children are very physically active and experience many types of falls and blows from activities of daily living as well as from participating in sports. Injuries such as these may cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness or discomfort. Chiropractic care is always adapted to the individual patient. In the case of children, it is very gentle.
Chiropractic care involves correcting spinal misalignments thereby removing irritation to the nervous system which controls everything in the body. If your issues are due to nerve irritation then chiropractic care may help.
A complete history and thorough physical examination will be performed and if needed x-rays of the spine may aid in the diagnosis and treatment. Most patients will receive their first adjustment that day as well.
The hands-on nature of the chiropractic treatment is essentially what requires patients to visit the chiropractor a number of times. To be treated by a chiropractor, a patient needs to be in his or her office. In contrast, a course of treatment from medical doctors often involves a pre-established plan that is conducted at home (i.e. taking a course of antibiotics once a day for a couple of weeks). A chiropractor may provide acute, chronic, and/or preventive care thus making a certain number of visits sometimes necessary. Your doctor of chiropractic should tell you the extent of treatment recommended and how long you can expect it to last.
A variety of conditions have been shown to respond well to laser therapy, including muscle and joint pain, arthritis and tendonitis, hip and knee issues, TMJ, plantar fasciitis, headaches, neuropathy, tennis elbow and many others.
Most patients experience a popping or cracking sound during spinal manipulation. This is not dangerous, and it typically does not cause discomfort for patients. This sound occurs because gas and fluids are moving through your spine. Your body depends on fluids to lubricate the bones between each section of your spinal joints, so it’s normal to have this fluid in your skeletal system.
